Asia covers an enormous range of countries, faiths and customs, and over more than three decades we’ve learned that each repatriation there needs its own approach. Some families want their loved one flown home for burial, others choose cremation in the UK and take the ashes back, and many have rituals that need to happen before the journey even begins. Our team works closely with high commissions, embassies and consulates in London, and with partner funeral directors across Asia, so we can plan around those wishes rather than asking families to fit around a process.
Our Repatriation Process
1. Initial Contact
Ring us whenever you need to, day or night. We'll explain what the destination country expects, and members of our team can speak with you in Mandarin or Cantonese as well as English.
2. Documentation
Some Asian countries are very strict about documents. India, for example, requires the original death certificate and original passport, and an OCI card where the deceased held a foreign passport. We'll check exactly what applies before anything is submitted.
3. Transportation
With the paperwork approved, we prepare your loved one and book the flight to the nearest suitable airport in their home country.
4. Local Arrangements
Our partners across Asia meet your loved one on arrival and take them to the family, so there's no gap in care between one country and the next.
5. Completion
We keep in contact the whole way through, so you always know where your loved one is and what's next.

Our purpose-built washroom allows family members to wash and dress their loved one themselves or with supervision, and at Victoria House in Beckton we offer private preparation, a hall for up to 180 people with private live streaming, and the overnight and weekend vigils many Filipino families ask for.

Countries such as India, Vietnam and the Philippines have their own rules for bringing ashes home. We handle the documents, seal the ashes in an airline-approved urn and arrange delivery. If you plan to carry the ashes yourself, please speak to us before booking your flight.
