We’ve been a family business since 1881, now in the hands of the fourth generation of the Cribb family, with the next generation already involved. Our repatriation service has run for more than three decades, coordinating cases to over 90 countries across every continent, each one handled efficiently and with respect for the family’s background, faith or wishes.
As one of the funeral homes trusted by the African diaspora, we understand that a Ugandan funeral doesn’t always follow straight after a death. We’ve developed a specialist embalming process designed to preserve the deceased for longer timescales and warmer climates, giving families in the UK and Uganda the time they need to come together and make arrangements.
Call us any time, day or night, and we'll talk you through what happens next and what we'll need from you.
We take care of the paperwork and legal requirements on your behalf, working with the relevant authorities to avoid unnecessary delay.
We arrange collection, preparation and the flight to Uganda, keeping you informed every step of the way.
We work with trusted partners in Uganda to make sure your loved one is cared for right through to their arrival with family.
We stay in touch throughout, so you always know where things stand and what's happening next.
T. Cribb & Sons has been proud to support the Ugandan community in the UK, and that relationship has been recognised by the community itself, through awards presented to us in honour of our commitment to families here and in Uganda.
An important Ugandan tradition is the bark cloth, made from the inner bark of the mutuba tree, a production process that predates the invention of weaving and was declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2005. We were honoured to open our doors free of charge at our Beckton branch for the launch of the bark cloth in the UK, supporting a tradition that matters deeply to the families we serve.
We also support various initiatives within the Ugandan community in London, including the Kabaka’s Birthday Run UK, standing alongside the community not just when a repatriation is needed, but throughout the year.

Feedback for Cribbs Beckton. Funeral 6th September 2024,. Cribbs provided a professional service for my father. I would like to offer a special thankyou to Taylor and the men who conveyed my father to his home, church and cemetery. They treated the family with compassion. I will be recommending Cribbs to my friends and family.
